Volunteer Overview
The Western Nevada Horsemen’s Association is run by volunteers. We are a non-profit organization that relies on the help of its members and their families and friends.

Each WNHA event takes approximately 10-12 volunteers to make it run quickly and smoothly. We rely on you, our members, for success.

The type of membership you have chosen determine the amount of volunteering jobs you are required to perform in order to be eligible for year-end awards.  We have included a volunteer sheet as well as an explanation of each job so you can better choose your volunteering jobs.  If you find a job that sounds interesting, but you don’t know how to do the job, contact the Events Secretary or Volunteer Coordinator for the particular duty and get further information.  We would love to see each and every one of you participate in all aspects of the club.

At each Event, the Events Secretary or Volunteer Coordinator will determine you for your duty and will go over the process of how to perform and complete the task you have been given or chosen.

If you are signed up for a duty, and do not show up, or do not complete that duty, you will be fined $25.00, and will be expected to make up the missed duty before you will be eligible for year end awards.  If a problem arises, and you cannot do your duty, it is your responsibility to contact the volunteer director so s/he can get your duty covered.

Also, anyone can fulfill the volunteer obligations on your behalf.  For instance, your spouse, parents, aunts, uncles, next-door-neighbor, grown child…anyone can do your duty for you.  They must simply make sure the Events Secretary or Volunteer Coordinator of that task knows which member they are representing.  It’s as simple as that…please read the rules for more information on this subject.

Members need to volunteer to work at least 4 hours per season for a single membership or 8 hours for a family membership.

Please read the attached volunteer overview and read the descriptions to help you choose the jobs you would like to do.  Please take your volunteer duty seriously.  We need your help to make this year a success.  In some positions, we are relying on your for accurate placings or times.  If there is a dispute, you may be the determining factor so make sure you are comfortable and conscientious in your volunteer duty.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Events Secretary or Volunteer Coordinator for further explanation.  See below, the requirements of your membership and to qualify for year end awards....
